Twitter Circle Lets You Send Tweets To A Select Group

Twitter is rolling out a similar feature to Instagram’s Close Friends that allows users to make select Tweets visible to a small group of people.

After a successful test run in May, the Twitter Circle is now available to everyone on the mobile app and desktop web.

During the testing period, the Twitter Circle made users comfortable enough to tweet more frequently while also increasing engagement with Circle tweets.

The Twitter Circle eliminates the need to switch between multiple accounts, such as personal and professional accounts where you can customize the audience for each tweet you send.

Here’s more information about the Twitter Circle and how to customize your group.

How to create your own Twitter circle

You can create your own Twitter Circle from the Tweet Composer or from the main menu.

From the author of the tweet:

  • Choose Choose the audience Inside the Tweet author.
  • Choose Modification next to the Twitter Circle option.
  • Find and select the people you want in your circle or from the recommended list.
  • Click on X To continue crafting your tweet.

From the main menu:

  • Faucet Twitter circle
  • Under Edit your Twitter circleFind and choose the people you want in your circle or select someone from the recommended list.
  • Faucet add delete next to their name.

The next time you tweet, you’ll have the option to switch between an audience everybody or Twitter circle.

You can add up to 150 people to your Twitter circle. Unlike the circles in the defunct Google+, Twitter only allows you to keep one circle at a time.

Finally, it is important to note that users cannot retweet circle tweets. When you tweet to your circle, it stays in the circle.
