Nissan was a valiant attempt to break down the wall set in stone by full-size domestic pickup trucks. It offered a powerful engine, a large comfortable cabin and many interesting ways to transport goods. With sales beginning to dwindle, it appears Titan’s days are numbered. There are plenty of used models out there to buy, but check this out. It can leave you wanting your money back.
The Nissan Titan didn’t offer a lot of options
Although Nissan offered five trim levels—S, SV, Pro-4X, SL, and Platinum Reserve—they didn’t differ much from one another. Each had a single petrol engine option. The 390-hp 5.6-liter V8 made the Titan fast, but it wasn’t quite as powerful as the competition’s most powerful engines.
(NHTSA) issued four recalls.
Unfortunately, the 2018 Titan had issues with the backup camera display, short-circuited alternator harness, and missing load capacity labels. While it didn’t suffer drivetrain recalls like the old Titans, it did get called out for over-cured tires.
Consumer complaints are widespread
The second-generation Titan fared far better with consumer complaints than the first-generation full-size pickup trucks. However, this does not mean that the Titan is an unobtrusive vehicle.
At least 24 customer complaints have been reported with the 2018 Nissan Titan. The issues extend to nine separate areas on the truck. However, most of them surround the propulsion system. Owners complained of the engine knocking and shutting down suddenly while driving. Although it did, a few had premature turbo failure. Owners have also noted harsh shifting and jitter during up-and-down shifts.
Are there any gains?
The unusually spacious cabin will accommodate five full-size passengers or more than enough payload to not leave grocery bags in the bed. Passengers are likely to feel comfortable in Nissan’s Zero Gravity comfortable front seats. The trim level gets rid of tough, unsightly plastics, featuring open-pore wood instead.
When it comes to controlling cargo, the Titan is one of the best in its class, he says. Each model has a spring-assisted tailgate for ease of use and innovative additions. They include a unique bed channel system and optional in-bed shipping boxes.
Is there an alternative to the Nissan Titan 2018?
Titan alternatives are. The Chevrolet Silverado, Dodge Ram, and Ford F-150 are the best in almost every category.
Each of the aforementioned models has plenty of engines to choose from and much better infotainment technology. What’s more, the big three automakers offer true heavy-duty variants, something the Nissan Titan didn’t do well.
