Tesla Cybertruck: 5 Hidden Features You Actually Missed

The revolutionary and polarizing Tesla is finally heading to the market in 2023. This new little car looks like something out of a science fiction movie, but it offers a lot of cool features and great qualities that make it useful. You may have heard of the 500 miles of driving range, 14,000-pound towing rating, or affordable starting price, but here are several features you haven’t heard about on this one.

1. The Tesla Cybertruck has thin light bars for passengers in the back

Above each tailgate is a slim LED light strip that illuminates the rear cabin area if desired. This is one feature of this electric truck that you might have missed when you look around at what it has to offer. It’s easy to miss these lights while staring down from the huge glass ceiling that Tesla includes in this electric truck.

The truck is 6.5 feet long, but sometimes you have long things that don’t quite fit. The center rear seat converts into an armrest that doubles as an aisle for extra-long luggage. It’s not a lot of space, but it’s enough to get into the cabin for a few seconds longer than a 2×4 would let the tailgate close.

3. The cameras that make the side mirrors obsolete in the Tesla Cybertruck

This new electric pickup truck is one of the most advanced to hit the market in 2023. Have you noticed that the prototypes don’t have side mirrors? Instead, this has cameras in the front bulkhead to work with the autopilot system.

Although these cameras can replace side-view mirrors, they probably won’t. Current regulations require side-view mirrors in the United States, which are likely to be part of production models. However, these cameras are there and one hidden feature that you may have overlooked.

4. The Tesla truck has a multi-use bed

The Cybertruck is equipped with L-track rails and T-slots in the bed. This allows owners to have anchor points anywhere in the 6.5-foot bed. In addition, this new Tesla truck comes with a flush storage trunk lid that is activated by buttons on either side of the bed. The cover then electronically retracts or expands to cover or reveal the load within the bed area.

5. The Tesla Cybertruck has hidden storage areas

Unless the flaps open, you probably missed the storage area under the bed floor and in the sail posts of this Tesla truck. Electric vehicles offer various storage solutions, but Tesla has done more with this pickup truck.

You’ll find storage space large enough for toolboxes and sleeping bags under the bed. The sailposts are basically the sides of the box of the truck, with storage boxes under the flaps. These spaces give you a little more space for some of the gear you’ll want to take with you, especially if you’re using that new Tesla truck as a work truck.

When will the new Tesla truck be available?

We have been waiting for the Tesla electric truck to hit the market for nearly four years. The production date has been changed several times, but it seems that Tesla is destined for this revolutionary pickup in the middle of 2023.

How many trucks are on the waiting list?

The current reservation list for the Tesla Cybertruck is more than 1.5 million. That number grew from a million on the list in May 2021. If you’re not on the reservation list, it’ll probably be a few years before you see one of these new electric vans available to drive.
