It usually takes about six weeks for a new truck to get through the ordering process, but the 2024 timeline could be different. We’ve already seen what massive delays can do to the auto industry.

The European model faces some problems that may take time to resolve.

As a result, fixing these quality issues may take priority over getting the new Ranger in America. However, the models in Australia in other countries are slightly different, and may not affect the US versions.

What are the potential Ranger 2024 problems?

In places like Australia, the new one has been met with tremendous demand. Depending on which model drivers choose, they may wait up to a year. Production has already increased in an effort to meet demand.

Some models have been delayed due to biological concerns. Vehicles shipped from Thailand to Australia have been held at ports for screening and quarantine cleaning as part of the country’s biohazard protection programme.

However, the 2024 Ford Ranger will be produced in America. However, more than 10,000 vehicles are sitting in the ports due to this delay.

Then the Ranger had the quality issues to rectify. Some models suffered in ride quality due to harsh vibrations. The Wildtrak model looked worse than the others. The problem occurred at speeds from 20 to 50 miles per hour.

Ford needed to contact the drivers to schedule repairs and then began testing the new trucks before they could be delivered, which led to delays.

Other problems include a broken infotainment screen, sensor failure, random braking at high speeds, and startup failure. Only nine out of 25,587 Ford Ranger models were replaced. Models that needed repairs were subject to unreasonable delays.

Is the American Ford Ranger different from the global model?

Yes, there are some major differences from the global model. For example, it will look a little different. The front bumper, grille, clip and lights may be installed together.

Ford reinforced the steel frame to increase stiffness and to accommodate the 2.0-inch hitch receiver popular in the North American market. The body rails and chassis have also been modified to comply with US safety standards.

The rear axle was replaced with a Dana Advantrek M220 beam axle and paired with leaf springs to improve the truck’s weight and handling.

We also get fewer engine options. Americans don’t have turbodiesel units, like the 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 210 hp and 370 lb-ft of torque.

The current Ford Ranger is powered by a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder unit that makes 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. It can be updated to be quieter and more powerful in the 2024 Ranger.

The Australian model arrived with problems and delays that could push the American Ranger back. But perhaps the American model will debut with fewer problems to patch.
