One of the Ram Revolution Problems Is Actually Illegal

You can finally enjoy the wild new 1500 Revolution concept. We’ve waited a long time to see an electric Ram truck, but all we get is a look! We don’t have much information on it except for some features, and one of those features is currently illegal.

One potential Ram 1500 Revolution feature is illegal

The concept finally hits the stage after Stellantis teased us about the new electric truck for months. However, the concept of revolution has some potential problems that need to be addressed.

Indicates that it contains an illegal feature. The Revolution has cameras instead of the traditional side mirrors. This is to reduce drag and make the truck more aerodynamic.

However, it is illegal in the United States. Side-view cameras aren’t completely banned, but every new car sold in America must have side mirrors that show what’s beside and behind the driver.

But the side-view mirrors could be subject to safety tests by US road regulators soon. It could become illegal by the time the Ram EV comes out.

Ram’s revolution is really overdue

After waiting to come out and offer competition to the Ford F-150 Lightning, we just have the concept. We expected more information to become available with the release of the Ram Rev.

The electric Ram truck is expected to go into production in 2024. That means it could be a 2025 model. The Ford F-150 Lightning will have a second generation by then. Also, the Chevrolet Silverado EV has already been spotted in towing tests. It could outpace the Ram EV in the market.

Also, we haven’t seen a production model. The Ram Revolution concept isn’t the final design, and things may change before it goes into production. Maybe you’ll get regular side mirrors by 2025.

We cannot say with confidence whether the revolution is worth waiting for yet because we have not obtained any statistics. Ram suggests that the Revolution will have greater range, higher towing capacity, higher payload capacity and faster charge times than competitors.

There is nothing to support these claims at this time. But the truck will need to tow more than 11,000 pounds, and the Silverado EV claims it has a range of 400 miles. Also, it’s hard to predict the price of a truck so far.

The revolution is a bit foreign

Sporting two-way swing doors without a central bar. These designs are often used in concepts to provide a better view of the interior. They rarely reach production because they may be less durable.

One of the infotainment screens can be moved from the center stack and used in other locations. So is it a removable tablet? Hopefully it doesn’t have cheap parts that break easily. Also, what happens when someone accidentally drops it in a parking lot or loses it?

Shadow mode allows the truck to follow a person and avoid obstacles. But Tesla cars can’t even know if the driver is actually in the front seat. It will also display an artificial intelligence face to take commands?

We’d have to see it to believe it because even the Jeep Grand Wagoneer came out with a lot of software bugs that needed to be addressed.

If all the features from concept make it through to the production model, it could be a very attractive and futuristic Ram Revolution. But some features are elusive, if not illegal.
