Believe it or not, it looks like we finally got a Ranger Raptor here in the States. This means that consumers will have another choice when it comes to a mid-size off-road truck. It also means that the Ford Bronco Raptor will have a younger sibling. So what do we expect for this new pickup truck?
Is there a Ford Ranger Raptor?
Although the Ford Ranger Raptor hasn’t made it to the US yet. As a midsize pickup, it should handle some legitimate off-roading as well as improve performance over the standard model.

The Ranger Raptor is built with Ford strength
Although Blue Oval didn’t reveal things like pricing, it’s likely one of the more expensive options for this midsize truck. At the same time, it will provide off-road capability and some additional performance.
In terms of the Ford Ranger Raptor’s powertrain, it will feature a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine. While the numbers haven’t been confirmed yet, it’s rumored to make 392 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. This is the same setup found on the Ford Bronco Raptor.
It wouldn’t be surprising if this truck also gets a locking front and rear differential, as well as a lift kit from the factory. And in true Raptor fashion, it will sound more aggressive than the standard Ranger.
When will this truck come?
Accordingly, the Ranger Raptor was supposed to arrive for the 2023 model year. But now, it looks like it will most likely be here in the 2024 model year. Don’t think you’ll be able to just show up to the dealership and get one, though.
As popular as it will be, it will probably be hard to actually get your hands on it. At least in the beginning. This generation of the Ford Ranger has been long awaited. And that’s because when Ford reintroduced its midsize truck here in the States, we already got the previous generation.
A new generation of Ranger will put us on par with different world markets. And that means we’ll have a newer truck. Blue Oval has been somewhat tight-lipped about when the new truck will actually become available. But it may arrive sometime in 2023.
The Raptor will be just one of the trim levels. We expect to see more affordable options like the FX4 Off-Road Package and Ranger Tremor. But these will not be as extreme as the Raptor option. At the end of the day, it’s very exciting that Ford is finally introducing a legitimate new midsize truck to more markets.
