TikTok To Show Who Viewed Your Posts
TikTok is in the process of adding viewer history to posts, according to a tester spotted in the wild.
Soon you’ll be able to see who’s viewed your TikTok videos, which is another set of data you can use to determine your most engaged followers.
The trade-off is that your followers will be able to see when you’ve viewed their posts as well.
If you are not satisfied with this, you can opt out of the post viewing history. But then you will not be able to see the viewing history of your content either.
TikTok post viewing history is not like Instagram and Facebook Stories, as it is turned on for everyone by default.
There are other ways viewer history differs on other platforms, which we’ll look at in the next section. Here’s how TikTok viewer history works.
TikTok Post View History – How It Works
The viewing history of a TikTok post is limited to followers only, which you can see in this screenshot shared by social media expert Matt Navarra:
new! TikTok Post View History 😳
Now you can see which of your followers viewed your TikToks! 👁

It says that people you follow can see you when you view their posts, and you will be able to see when your followers view your posts.
In theory – if you wanted to surreptitiously view someone’s content, does that mean you could simply unfollow them?
It’s an interesting option to limit date display in this way. I suppose it accommodates people with a large following, as it filters the data down to exchanges only.
TikTok’s viewing history is also limited in duration, which will be available for seven days from the day of publication.

If the viewer’s history is useful to you, you will have one week to collect the data.

TikTok confirms the testing feature
in the report of TechcrunchA TikTok spokesperson confirmed that the feature is real and is available to select users.
When it will be more widely available is anyone’s guess. There is no guarantee that test features will ever be rolled out.
If the feedback from the test group is negative, TikTok may decide to scrap viewer history or at least rework it.
At this point, it’s just something to be aware of, and know that will be added to TikTok in a future update.
