The Escalade Nameplate Could Become Its Own Electric Luxury SUV Sub-Brand

Future models may be part of a new sub-brand of Cadillac. General Motors plans to create EV sub-brands from some of the biggest names. These include Escalade, Camaro and Corvette. As GM moves towards an all-electric lineup, they may be making more use of future electric luxury SUV models.

Is the Cadillac Escalade the right nameplate for a new luxury electric SUV sub-brand?

The Escalade appeared on the market in the late 90s. This new model has given us an SUV that has become the gold standard of high-end SUVs for over twenty years. The future of this name could be an electric vehicle sub-brand, with three or more models sharing the Escalade name.

the Escalade name is expected to continue to be offered on a full-size electric SUV, a seven-seat crossover SUV, and possibly a high-end minivan.

Where will these new luxury electric SUVs be sold?

Initially, the two new electric SUV models are expected to be offered in the United States and China. The minivan could only be sold in China when first offered. If electric minivans catch on in the United States, the Escalade minivan could make its way to our shores.

Does GM have a target for the new Escalade crossover?

Porsche is working on an all-electric three-row crossover called the K1. This is the goal of the new Escalade crossover. This new electric Escalade could be the electric equivalent of the XT6. It could also be offered as a performance crossover. It’s easy enough to expect Porsche to offer a family-sized sporty SUV, and if Cadillac is to compete, this new Escalade crossover will need to be just as impressive.

Could there be a fourth mode in the new range of Escalade sub-brands?

hints at the possibility of an all-electric car-like crossover bearing the Escalade name. This could be a fourth model, which could offer the desired off-road qualities in a small off-road SUV. If we were to hazard a guess, this new car-like luxury electric SUV could be the equivalent of the GMC Terrain.

The Cadillac Escalade could become more than just a large full-size luxury SUV with massive power and performance. It could become a new all-electric GM sub-brand with a range of luxury electric SUV models. If this plan goes ahead, we could see three popular GM names become new sub-brands with new EV offerings.
