The Best Luxury Car Brand Isn’t Mercedes or BMW, According to U.S. News
While BMW and Mercedes-Benz may be the luxury brands of 2023, they may not be the best choices overall. While these two luxury car brands are still in the top 10, two surprising competitors offer better overall experiences. Which luxury car brands are the best in 2023? And Genesis is in the lead, but for vastly different reasons.
Porsche holds the number one position as the best luxury car brand
While Porsche is known for its convertibles and convertibles, the German luxury brand offers an excellent range of four-door models these days. With the Panamera sedan, Porsche has found a nice balance between practicality and performance, with five seats and 17 cubic feet of cargo space.
And Cayenne has a high customer satisfaction rate. The Macan is one of the few crossovers sports car enthusiasts seem to enjoy, thanks to its straightforward handling and powerful turbocharged powertrain.
Meanwhile, the larger Cayenne offers an excellent driving experience complete with first-class comfort and a respectable cargo area. The Cayenne isn’t as spacious as comparable luxury SUVs, but first-rate build quality and materials help make up for the difference.
Genesis is just behind Porsche as the best luxury car brand in 2023
Taking on more competition and winning is no easy task, but Genesis has outperformed all but one brand in customer satisfaction ratings. Three luxury sedans offer a high level of comfort and a wealth of standard features. From the basic G70 to the executive G90, the Genesis sedan lineup offers excellent value for money.
The GV70 and GV80 SUVs offer similar experiences to SUV buyers, providing a first-class experience at an amazing price.
Mercedes-Benz is fourth in the overall standings
Mercedes-Benz still ranks high in the luxury car brand rankings, although fourth place isn’t something the brand would be happy about. The truth is, higher prices and closer competition give luxury buyers plenty of other options in 2023.
Electric motors and in-car technology have narrowed the gap between premium brands, so Mercedes-Benz may have to work a little harder to regain the podium.
BMW drops to seventh
It wasn’t that long ago that BMW was near the top of the luxury heap, but the brand is going through an identity crisis at the moment. While driver interaction has been a BMW signature, it’s producing more luxury-focused models than ever before.
With the exception of the new 7 Series, however, BMW’s new lineup doesn’t stand out in either arena, and premium car buyers can find a better value with other options in 2023. Performance enthusiasts still love the driving experience of the M Performance models, but it’s unfortunate the design of these Modern models make it difficult to really like it.
Porsche and Genesis are amazing choices
While Porsche is generally seen as a performance brand, and Genesis are the new kids on the block, both offer premium engines to luxury car buyers. However, with so many premium brands vying for the top spot, now is the time to shop for a luxury car.
