The 2023 Ford F-150 Still Struggles Behind the Ram 1500

The F-150 is the most popular truck, but that doesn’t mean it’s the best. The Ram 1500 still beats the F-150 in various lists given by critics. However, significant upgrades have been made in an effort to catch up.

While the 2023 Ford F-150 and both are great trucks to consider, the F-150 still falls short. He noted that the Ram 1500 still has better ride quality. Rivals since 2019 have had to catch up but they just can’t.

1500 has more storage space and passenger room. It is more suitable for families and everyone’s equipment.

Does the 2023 F-150 or Ram have more power?

The 2023 Ford F-150 has five available engines, while the 2023 has four different engines. The F-150’s standard 3.3-liter V6 engine makes 290 horsepower and 256 lb-ft of torque. Ram starts with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that makes 305 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque.

Critics love the F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid. The 3.5-liter V6 engine is paired with an electric motor to generate 430 horsepower and 570 pound-feet of torque. It gets 25 mpg EPA in the city and up to 26 mpg highway.

However, battery problems caused the Ford F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid to be ranked as the least reliable truck you can buy.

The Ram 1500 has the popular Ecodiesel option. The 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel engine delivers 26 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque. It gets 22 mpg EPA in the city and up to 32 mpg highway.

The Ford F-150 Raptor R delivers 700 horsepower and 640 lb-ft of torque, while the Ram 1500 TRX comes with 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque.

But the F-150 is the towing king. It can tow up to 14,000 pounds and carry a payload of up to 2,238 pounds. The Ram 1500 has a maximum load capacity of 12,750 pounds and can carry a payload of up to 2,235 pounds.

To spice things up, 2023 gets a supercharged F-150 F-150 Rattler R to play in the desert with a Ram 1500 TRX. The Raptor R starts at $109,145, while the TRX starts at around $84,335.

You can also check out the F-150 Rattler, the new affordable off-road-ready model. It’s built on the standard F-150 XL with skid plates, differential lock, all-terrain tires, upgraded shocks and hill-descent control.

While the F-150 is closer to the Ram 1500 in terms of space and comfort, it still falls short. Nevertheless, this popular truck is a well-rounded option that is comfortable, rugged, and capable.
