Chevy Refuses to Fix a Key Mistake With the 2023 Silverado

It has a bold and muscular exterior design, a spacious and luxurious interior, excellent powertrain, and impressive handling. Some consider it the ultimate combination of power, elegance and innovation.

Surprisingly, however, Edmonds gave the 2023 Silverado an average overall score of 7.5 out of 10. Its main competitors, the 2023 Ford F-150, Ram 1500, and Toyota Tundra, have average overall scores of 8.5, 8.4, and 8.0, respectively. . The Silverado’s lower overall score is because of its refusal to fix a major bug in the 2023 Silverado. Join us as we highlight that bug by discussing how the 2023 Silverado 1500 performs in the eight Edmunds Classification classes.

Drives and performs well. It accelerates to 60 mph in about 7 seconds, compared to 5.7 seconds in the F-150. The transmission shifts smoothly, and braking and acceleration are sufficient for hauling, hauling, or everyday driving. It feels stable and easy to control, and the body doesn’t move much in turns. But if you hit a bump in the middle of a turn, it will feel unstable and difficult to control.

2. Rest

Although the heated seats aren’t as luxurious as the Ram 1500 or F150, they’re comfortable even on long trips. The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 rides smoothly but will feel refreshing on the roads with frequent bumps and inclines. The cabin is quiet, but you can hear the engine noise if you press harder on the gas pedal.

The climate system is effective, but the control buttons may be a little too small for some drivers.

3. Interior

The Silverado comes with a long-awaited interior upgrade. It is more modern than its predecessor and has easy to use controls. Interior space is sufficient for adults in both cab configurations, with plenty of headroom and legroom. Although some trims have high ground clearance, the seat position and wide door openings make it easy to get in and out.

4. Technology

The modern interior features a 13.4-inch infotainment screen, voice recognition powered by Google, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto smartphone integration, and phone storage. Some decorations come with a wireless charger. The Silverado features plenty of driver aids and safety features, such as cameras and a rear cross-traffic alert system.

5. Withdrawal and storage

Maximum towing capacity is 13,300 pounds, higher than the GMC Sierra 1500 (13,200) and Ram 1500 (12,750) but lower than the F-150 (14,000). It has a range of bed lengths to suit different needs and many clever storage pockets throughout the cabin.

6. Fuel economy

The 2023 Silverado has lower fuel economy, but some powertrain options are more efficient. It ranges from 23 mpg city and 33 mpg highway for the diesel-powered six-cylinder option to 16 mpg city and 22 mpg highway for the 5.3-liter V-8.

7. Value

It’s priced higher than its main competitors, but it doesn’t offer anything that justifies the price.

Features, style and interior quality are pretty much what you’ll find in its lower priced competitors. While the interior looks modern, it borrows many designs and trim from previous models. They also offer average warranty coverage.

Believing in the value class sets the Silverado back, giving it the lowest score out of all the others. The main fault is that Chevrolet is not offering Silverado 1500 owners enough value for their money.

8. Allowance

The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is a joy to drive with its rugged looks, high driving position and powerful towing capabilities. But the outdated interior design from previous models may not be to everyone’s liking.

Silverado 1500 needs more features to provide a better value

Edmunds average score can be attributed to the lower value it offers compared to its competitors. It’s priced higher than that of its main competitors, but it doesn’t offer any additional interior style, features, or benefits.

It would be wise for Chevy to either include more features for the price or lower the price a bit to make it a more competitive option in the full-size truck market.
