The 2023 BMW 3 Series Balances Driving Joy and Classic Luxury

There was a time when the 3 Series was the only option if you wanted a luxurious, comfortable, and attractive sports sedan. However, models such as the Mercedes-AMG CLA and Audi S3 put the 3 Series on their heels. Now, it’s got a mid-cycle update that has changed more than just the looks. This luxury BMW sedan gets performance and technology upgrades as well. With the 2023 BMW 330i, we take a look at the new 3 Series and see if it’s ready to reclaim its legendary status.

The 2023 BMW 3 Series is fun to drive again

Even in the entry-level BMW 330i, the 2023 BMW 3 Series delivers a new level of excitement. The 2.0-liter engine provides a 255-horsepower workhorse for all your motoring endeavours. The 294 lb-ft of torque is where this engine really shines. With torque peaking at just over 2,000 rpm, you’ll get that feeling of being pushed into your seat with almost any punch of the throttle. From a standstill, the turbo four-pot engine gets you to 60 mph in just 5.4 seconds. In other words, go ahead and change that path. Just don’t forget to use the turn signal.

And hit it with tactical precision, you’ll forget all about the bump you hit on the way to the gas station.

Speaking of efficiency, the 2023 BMW 330i gets you an impressive 34 mpg highway and 24 mpg city. Sure, your weekend fling might bring those numbers down a bit, and you’ll be well suited for an efficient cruise to the office on Monday morning.

If a harsh ride bothers you, you can choose a setting that lets you choose damping firmness, among other settings.

The luxurious luxury you are looking for

There is a fine line between too much seat support and falling off the seat. The 2023 BMW 3 Series rides with impressive agility. Just enough support for ultimate comfort, but not so much that you feel tied down when you’re just trying to use an ATM.

The seats come wrapped in a variety of premium materials, from Sensatec to Vernasca leather. You’ll be offered a range of colors including a rich, dark red and the satisfying caramel hue dubbed ‘cognac’.

You’ll also get other premium touches, including ambient interior lighting, a power sliding sunroof, and dual-zone automatic climate control. In addition, heated and cooled seats are available for an added touch of comfort.
