The 2023 Nissan Rogue is only powered by a variable compression turbocharged three-cylinder engine. This engine produces 201 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque, which is enough to get you down a highway or pass cars with relative ease. But you really get to it first so the power kicks in.

On the other hand, the Hyundai Santa Fe also has a lot of pep in its step. It’s powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that delivers 281 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque. That’s a lot more power than the Nissan Rogue can offer, and it can be felt while driving. The turbocharger takes a second to buffer, but when it does, the power comes in well in the middle of the powerband. There is a nice boom that propels you back into the seat.

So if you want a lot of power and efficiency, the Santa Fe is for you. We even averaged 29 mpg in it. We averaged 26 mpg in the Rogue after driving it for a week.

Both the Nissan Rogue and The Nissan Rogue have similar technical features. Large touchscreen infotainment systems, 12.3-inch digital displays and premium sound systems can be found in each. To be honest, all of these features work similarly in both cars, but we love the Santa Fe’s easier-to-use infotainment system. The Nissan Rogue isn’t hard to use, but its interface could use a little updating.
