Ram Just Raised the 2023 MSRP of Its Cheapest Truck
Most automakers announce their model year’s lineup, and their MSRPs, in the fall. But she’s been tight-lipped about one of her models, until a month into the new model year. We now know that the cheapest Ram truck—and cheapest full-size truck—you can buy will cost at least $30,695.
2023 Ram 1500’s MSRP Cost $37,410
The current fifth-generation Ram 1500 has a 2023 MSRP of $37,410. Due to global supply chain issues, Ram actually increased the MSRP of its flagship half-ton truck throughout the 2022 model year, so the 2022 Ram 1500 engine ended up with an MSRP of $37,090. The 2023 model is only a few hundred dollars more expensive.
. Chevrolet announces $35,600 MSRP for the Silverado 1500W. So why does the current Ram 1500 have the highest MSRP of the Detroit three? Because this generation of RAM is only available with a four-door cab. It’s actually somewhat competitive with the four-door versions of its half-ton counterparts. Still, the new Ram is such that fleet operators and some drivers want a cheaper option.
2015 Ram 1500 Classic MSRP is $30,695
Along with the all-new 2023 Ram 1500, Ram continues to build and sell its fourth-generation 2018 truck badged as the Ram 1500 “Classic.” The Ram 1500 Classic is the cheapest full-size pickup truck you can buy, and the automaker just revealed that its 2023 MSRP will be $30,695.
For $30,695, you get a newly built Ram truck with an 8-inch box. This entry-level version is 2WD with the naturally aspirated 3.4L Pentastar V6 engine. What you don’t get in the Ram Classic are the latest interior design or infotainment options or the new eTorque mild-hybrid system.
The 2018 Ram, and by extension the Ram Classic, have the same engine options as the current truck. It also has a Ram coil rear suspension setup. Finally, it features the classic crossover grille.
The new Ram Destination costs $1,895
It is important to note that MSRPs rarely reflect what you would actually pay for a new car. For example, you have to pay the destination fee at any Ram agency. For 2023, the automaker has increased that fee to $1,895.
Some agents have additional fees. You will also have to pay registration and insurance fees, which vary by state. See the current MSRP per half-ton pickup truck in the chart below:
