Cloudflare describes TikTok’s journey towards becoming the most popular domain throughout 2021:
On February 17, 2021, TikTok was in the lead for one day. Back in March, TikTok had a few more days and also in May, but after August 10, 2021, TikTok was in the lead for most days. There were some days where Google was 1, but October and November were mostly TikTok days, including Thanksgiving (November 25) and Black Friday (November 26).
The Cloudflare report also includes lists of the most popular social media domains, most popular e-commerce platforms, and most popular video streaming sites.
Unsurprisingly, Amazon finished the year as the most popular e-commerce domain, followed by Taobao, Ebay, and Walmart.
Giants like Netflix, YouTube, and HBOMax have dominated the list of the most popular video streaming sites. Interestingly, Twitch did not manage to break into the top ten.
