YouTube Adds New Podcasts Section
YouTube has added a new “Explore” page for podcasts to make it easier to find podcasts. Although the addition has not been officially announced, I noticed intense eyes And he drew attention to his new dedicated podcast section.
The new Explore page for podcasts may help increase your podcast’s visibility.
Explore the pages
Explore pages are higher level categories, such as MusicAnd sportsAnd comedy.
The audience-based menu navigation makes it easy to browse the type of content they’re interested in, and once there, they can browse through the different selections.
The menus for accessing the Explore pages are located at the top left of the page from the link labeled “Explore” and at the bottom along the left navigation bar in the “Explore” section.

The new Discover Podcasts page has nine podcast categories to explore:
- popular episodes
- Popular podcast playlists
- Recommended
Based on your subscriptions and history - Famous podcast creators
- comedy
- True crime
- sports
- Music
- Television and cinema
The only categories that have a page dedicated to exploring podcasts for the specific topic are:
- popular episodes
- Popular podcast playlists
- Famous podcast creators
Audiences can visit a full page of podcasts in the Popular Episodes category:

But they can’t do the same for the topics of comedy, true crime, sports, music, TV, and movies.
For those categories that lack a dedicated category page, podcast audiences have to use a side swipe to explore more podcasts within the topic.
Podcasts are popular on YouTube
according to 2022 study by Edison ResearchYouTube is the most popular platform for listening to podcasts, and Spotify comes in second.
It is worth noting in this statistic that YouTube reached this level of popularity without a dedicated category for podcasts.
The new Podcasts Explore page isn’t featured on the YouTube homepage, and there are no podcast categories dedicated to topics like sports, music, True Crime, or comedy.
Because of the seemingly incomplete navigation, there is a sense of work in progress.
