Every 2023 Minivan Has More Cargo Space Than a Ford F-150 Truck Bed

Ford is famous, especially for its famous F-150 with the ability to tow quite a bit. However, when it comes to cargo space, the overall storage volume is much smaller than what it offers. It comes in a few different body styles with three different bed sizes. How much cargo space you get depends on which configuration you choose. Although there aren’t a lot of minivans out there, there are still a few solid ones on the market. The Chrysler Pacifica, one of the most popular options in this segment, offers 32.3 cubic feet of space behind the third row of seats. For maximum capacity, you can increase your storage space to 140.5 cubic feet, according to .

Slightly more with 33.5 cubic feet behind the minivan’s last row of seats. But its total capacity with the second and third rows folded down provides 101 cubic feet of storage.

Next up is the Honda Odyssey, which offers 38.6 cubic feet of storage behind the last row. However, if you fold down the two rear rows of seats, you can increase that to 155.78 cubic feet of cargo space.

The available minivan is the Kia Carnival. This model has 40.2 cubic feet of space, which is plenty of cargo space behind the rear seats. However, the total capacity is 145.1 cubic feet of storage.

You might expect a full-size pickup to have more, but that’s not always the case.

This truck’s overall capacity may be less than what minivan models offer, but it still has a huge advantage when it comes to cargo space. 77.4 cubic feet of maximum storage is calculated using the width, length and depth of the truck bed. But, what does not take into account the fact that there is a hike that you can take advantage of as well.

For example, you can move a large refrigerator or upright freezer in a pickup bed as well. Can you do that with one of the minivans available? No, because the truck has a height limit with the enclosed body covering the cargo area. You might be able to carry a TV upright in the back of a pickup truck, but no more than that.

Another advantage is that you can pull items in the back of the truck with the tailgate down. Materials such as plywood or paneling can extend beyond the tailgate with appropriate fasteners and safety flags. It would be hard to do in a pickup truck, with the tailgate swinging out. Trucks have no restrictions when doing so.

The Ford F-150 has a smaller overall cargo capacity than most minivans on the market today. However, it’s still a good choice when you need to haul long items, such as refrigerators, and long items like plywood that can extend beyond the truck’s tailgate.
