Decorative drawers are from A to A. It provides you with two drawers along the bed that can hold up to 200 lbs each of items. The system is designed to hold up to 2,000 pounds on top, so you don’t lose too much truck capacity, and it locks. But they mostly come unassembled.
How difficult is it to install decorative bed drawers?
Let’s start with the bad news first. When my Decked drawers arrived from the shipping company, they had run through the contest. The shipping company had some picks, which resulted in the box ripping and a small piece of plastic breaking off. The trays weigh 400 pounds, and must be shipped with a special carrier. Get a friend to help you move these things around.
Come to you unassembled. This means that you need to spend some time, several hours, and have some patience to install them. The installation instructions are fun, and Decked loves to have a sense of humor about the little things, like constantly reminding you that power tools can loosen threads. But the instructions are a little hard to follow. Fortunately, the video is easy to follow and walks you step by step through the process.
How long does it take to install the decorative staircase system?
It took me and my friend most Saturdays to fit the drawers on. We took our time and didn’t run fast. Honestly, I spent as much time researching the tools as I did watching the video. If I had all the tools I needed at the start and had a solid understanding of the process, this could probably be a two hour job.
Many of the pieces you need to assemble the system are more unassembled than others. Take time to understand, for example, how a knob on a drawer fits together. And like me, you’ll want to use a drill, but do yourself a favor and set the clutch as low as possible.
Are decorative drawers worth it?
