However, for Jeep, it’s a tie with the same starting price for both small SUVs. After the Renegade and Compass, the next cheapest Jeep is the 2023 Wrangler compact SUV ($31,195 MSRP).

Last year, the 2022 Renegade was the cheapest new Jeep model ($24,695 MSRP). However, the starting price of $24,695 is for the Sport trim, which has been discontinued for the 2023 model year. Now, the entry-level trim for the 2023 Renegade is the Latitude. However, the 2023 Compass retains the Sport trim, which is the same price as the 2023 Renegade Latitude.
What’s new for the 2023 Renegade?
Along with the discontinuation of the Sport trim, the 2023 Jeep subcompact SUV has nixed the option for a front-wheel drive layout. Now all Renegade models come standard with all-wheel drive for increased traction when off-road excursions and in inclement weather.
In addition, there are various feature updates across the trim range for the small budget SUV, such as the newly developed adaptive cruise control for the Limited trim and revisions to the equipment groups and packages: Premium Group, High Altitude Package, Limited Elite Group, Trailhawk Elite Group and Premium Lighting Group. Additionally, the 2023 Renegade has a new exterior paint option: Detonator Yellow.
What’s new for Compass 2023?
For the new model year, the 2023 Jeep subcompact SUV offers a new engine: a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four. Mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, it generates 200 horsepower and 221Nm of torque. Also, like the Renegade, the Compass now comes with all-wheel drive as standard on all models.
In addition, the small SUV has new safety and security features. This includes the standard backseat reminder alert, sleepy driver detection and a new safety alarm, as well as automatic high beams for Latitude and higher trims. Additionally, Sport and Latitude trims get new standard 17-inch wheels.
