Despite off-road upgrades, a unique interior and an efficient turbocharged engine, there are still some areas where improvements could be made. So, we’ll jump right in.

It has a standard 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 200PS and 221Nm of torque. It’s mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 7.6 seconds.

With the 2023 Toyota RAV4, you get a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with 203hp and 184Nm of torque. It can reach 60 mph in about 9.1 seconds. But the RAV4 can tow up to 3,500 pounds, and the Compass maxes out at 2,000 pounds.

Thanks to its power and structure, the Compass is the off-road leader in its segment. The Trailhawk has suspension lift, 17-inch wheels wrapped in off-road tires, skid plates, recovery hooks, hill descent control, and unique off-road modes for rock climbing and low range.

The compass has tons of value

Rivals like the Ford Bronco Sport might be looking a bit sparse compared to the 2023. It has a standard 10.1-inch 4×4 infotainment screen, LED headlights, roof rails, an adjustable cargo bed, Apple CarPlay / Android Auto wireless, a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster and USB ports in every row.

Standard safety features include forward collision mitigation, lane departure mitigation, blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, driver attention alert and rear seat reminder.

Upgrading trim levels gives you access to premium leather upholstery, soft trimmed materials, ambient lighting, a wireless charging pad, 360-degree camera views, heated seats, heated steering wheel, 120-volt outlet, built-in navigation, panoramic sunroof and ventilated seats.

The interior is soft and durable, with optional all-weather rubberized waterproof floor mats. It has a strong build quality and an attractive design. The two-tone leather is distinguished by red stitching.

While the Compass gets expensive fast and lacks interior space, it’s sporty and offers a premium interior with advanced technology and unmatched off-road capability.
