First, the new Corvette Hybrid features a “” that puts the car in electric drive mode capable of speeds up to 45 mph. Once a driver exceeds 45 mph, uses up all of the battery’s charge, or tries to go fast, E-Ray turns on the LT2’s 6.2-liter V8 for additional assistance.

In addition to stealth mode, the new Corvette features a “shuttle mode.” Shuttle mode simply deactivates the gas-powered V8 engine into a mode designed to help you move your vehicle in a tight environment. For example, Shuttle mode can help you launch musical cars in a driveway or garage. Reports indicate that, unlike stealth mode, shuttle mode will “never fire the engine”.
