The free version is used by millions of users. Although it is hosted on Microsoft data centers, the service falters during peak usage periods and becomes unavailable.

The new subscription version, called ChatGPT Plus, will cost $20 per month.
Initially, ChatGPT will be available to users in the United States and will expand to other countries and regions “soon”.
There is no estimate or indication of when the service will be available outside the United States.
But the fact that there is a file Waiting list For US users to subscribe may be an indication.

We’ll pay whatever amount you want per month if you let us use Chat GPT without the “I’m sorry I can’t do that” restriction.

One person praised OpenAI for keeping a free version available:
Already on the list 👍 A very reasonable $20 for what you guys are giving 👏 Also, huge props too for keeping the product free for others as well so it can continue to learn and grow while helping others. The AI is only as good as it claims and the data set after all.
