St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated annually on March 17 and is a global celebration of Irish culture, with lively parades and festivals, green dress-ups, shamrocks and plenty of beer. Another aspect of the holiday is the faeries, which are small supernatural beings from Irish folklore. So, as a website, we’re here to answer the question, “What car will the Leprechaun drive on St. Patrick’s Day?”
A leprechaun might drive a good car for short people, like a MINI
The Genie is usually depicted as a bearded man, usually wearing a green hat and a suit. They are also often mischievous – and sometimes have a pot of gold on the end of a file. Another distinguishing feature is the small size – ranging from three to four feet in height.

However, the logical little car for my leprechauns is one of the most iconic cars of all time: the Mini. While the MINI rose to fame in the 1960s, the automaker is still going strong today. We can imagine seeing a leprechaun riding around in a green Minnie this St. Patrick’s Day.
Shamrock car, “The Irish Flying”
Compared to the United States and other countries in Europe, Ireland was not a hotbed of automobile production. A notable exception is the famous DMC DeLorean sports car Back to the future films. To produce the stainless steel car, John DeLorean set up an assembly plant near Belfast, Northern Ireland, where 8,500 units were built. Other noteworthy cars from Ireland include the Silver Stream, DAWB 6, Crosslé, Alesbury and TMC Costin, per.
However, the Irish vehicle most suitable for St. Patrick’s leprosy is the Shamrock. As detailed before, Shamrock was inspired by co-founder William Curtis, an American manufacturer of restaurant equipment. When he visited his wife’s family in Ireland in the 1950s, he was amazed at the poverty in the country. This stimulated the desire to build a luxury car in Ireland – and then export it to the United States
The Shamrock is strikingly similar to the 1957 Ford Thunderbird. As a result, it received the “Irish Flying”. Like the Genie, Shamrock is. Apparently, only 10 were built, with the first one being produced in 1959. The Shamrock was held back in part by its undersized engine, which only made 53 horsepower.
Uber or self-driving car to drive a drunk leprechaun home on St. Patrick’s Day
What do you think the leprechaun will really do on St. Patrick’s Day? Like a lot of people, he’ll probably celebrate the holiday by smashing on several pints of Guinness or some other brand of beer.
However, a drunk leprechaun should not drive. With this in mind, he may look for an alternative way to get home. While sliding down a rainbow is a possible option, he can get a taxi, bus, or other form of public transportation.
Also, in the future, a leper, in a drunken stupor, could ride home in a self-driving car — once technology advances and is proven safe. Some Tesla owners have already pushed the boundaries of self-driving with the controversially-named Full Self-Driving mode. However, the technology is not yet there to safely support a drunk leprechaun on his journey home.
