Life Is Short! Who Wants to Buy a Race Track?

The past few years have been very difficult for most of us who live on this planet. Besides earthquakes, China, civil rights violations, and any number of other tragedies to choose from, she showed anyone with a heart that life is short and precious and to be cherished. What do we do with this realization? Well, for a few of us, we see that classified ad for a home for sale with a private dirt racetrack, and we know exactly what to do. Will someone let me have $2.7 million to buy a real speed racetrack?

Can you buy a racetrack?

Of course, we know that with enough money, you can buy anything in this world or even out of this world. However, this race track outside of Tusla is, well, a bit more achievable than some equity-financed Eastcoast complex.

Highlights This incredibly great opportunity to have the best birthday party home for anyone with little money.

What is the cost of owning a racetrack?

Oktaha, Oklahoma’s Outlaw Motor Speedway, is for sale. Listed for $2,695,000, this killer complex is a dirt oval track, 3/8 of a mile on the inside and 5/8 on the top. This isn’t just a track, though. It is a fully functional racetrack with grandstands, offices, pits, garages, event bathrooms and a two bedroom apartment on the 106 acre property. It even has a car park for 1,000 people.

The trail is about an hour from Tulsa, Oklahoma, which means while you’re getting your friends to eat your dust, you’ll be doing it in the middle of nowhere. Given that this property will be packed, the distance from civilization probably isn’t the worst.

This property is clearly centered around the carving pit of the Motor Colosseum; There are still many other things that make this property so great. The listing refers to two large ponds fed by natural springs. Racing and hunting? shoot.

However, living in the country has its downsides. If you’ve spent any time in the right country, you might know that city water and sewage are perks of city life. This property requires two water tanks with a capacity of 3000 gallons for running water and two septic tanks. However, water and toilets are luxuries rather than necessities. (I told you all, we’re knuckle-puppies)

So you own a racetrack. What now?

Well, first, you need two race cars. Then you can call your closest 7,000 friends to fill out the grandstands to watch you cut down the contestants you’ve invited to the Thunder Dome. Then when too many people show up to sit in the stands, you check off the remaining spectators into one of the ten “VIP” rooms inside with air conditioning. That way, when grandma comes over, you have a great place to watch you run through the field.

The flip side of this dream property is the sobering fact that these small local tracks run buffalo way. As time progresses and moving forward, it becomes harder and harder for most Americans to maintain and sustain these unconventional small businesses. Maybe it’s not too late? Perhaps, some serious cabbage people could use their fortunes to do something better than buy Twitter.
