The 2024 GMC Sierra HD Gets Automatic Emergency Braking Standard

Sometimes a heavy-duty doesn’t get all the same safety features that a regular pickup truck might. That may be the case for some trucks, but the 2024 GMC Sierra HD gets more safety standards than ever. From the Sierra 2500 to the new Denali Ultimate model, this pickup truck has all the heavy-duty towing capabilities buyers want.

Buyers of the 2024 GMC Sierra HD will receive the Pro Safety Package

And according to reports, the 2024 GMC Sierra HD is the most luxurious and capable truck the brand has ever made. For 2024, the Sierra HD comes with a few new accoutrements, like the Sierra HD Denali Ultimate and AT4X off-road trims. GMC says the 6.6-liter turbo-diesel V8 engine with an Allison transmission gets 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque. It can withdraw between 21,900 and 22,500 pounds. For the 3500, maximum towing capacity is 36,000 pounds with the Duramax V8 engine, Max Trailering Package and hitch.

The Gooseneck and Fifth Wheel Trailering System allows the driver to “see” through the trailer using a camera behind the truck. Another camera is located at the rear of the trailer and puts the image together on the screen, which improves visibility.

Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert and the new Combined Gross Weight Alert make towing safer. GMC offers available adaptive cruise control with the Trailering System that can account for the added towing and increased braking distances while towing.
