Along with new exterior paint color options, the 2023 Silverado 1500 pickup truck offers an upgraded Duramax diesel engine. It generates 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque, which is 28 hp and 35 lb-ft more than the previous variant. The diesel engine’s increased output is due to several modifications, including a retuned turbocharger, new fuel injectors, an upgraded combustion chamber, and new pistons.
In addition to the Duramax diesel, the Silverado 1500 offers three other engine options: a 2.7-liter four-cylinder (310 hp, 430 lb-ft of torque), a 5.3-liter V-8 (355 hp, 383 lb-ft) ), and a 6.2-liter V-8 (420 hp; 460 lb-ft of torque).
Transmission options include a standard eight-speed automatic or an available 10-speed automatic—and for the drivetrain, the options are standard rear-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive. Also, on the towing front, when properly equipped, the Silverado 1500 can tow up to 13,300 pounds.
