Meta Expands Ad Formats And Tools For Small Businesses

Small businesses are getting the attention they deserve from Facebook parent company Meta.

During National Small Business Week, Meta announced new ways for small and medium businesses to benefit from lead generation and content sharing.

The new tools aim to help companies generate higher-quality leads by identifying new ways they can connect with customers.

Messaging and chat features

Meta recently determined that more than 70% of people want to be able to communicate with businesses in a similar way to friends and family: through messaging.

In fact, companies also understand the value of messaging to customers. They’ve found that the ad format that opens a WhatsApp conversation is a great way for new customers to get discovered and strike up a conversation.

With this new insight, Meta creates ads on Facebook and Instagram that can be created directly from their WhatsApp Business app. An example of the new experiment is below.

The second messaging update is to the inbox itself. Meta simplifies business communication by having all your messaging tools in one inbox.

Your company inbox already contains messages from Facebook Messenger and Instagram Direct. From now on, it will contain messages from WhatsApp as well.

This integration can save you and your team time, money and efficiency.

The latest Messages update allows you to send promotional message announcements to customers who choose to connect, directly through the Meta Business Suite.

This update is the result of direct feedback from SMEs, noting the need to respond more efficiently to customer questions.

Marketing messages within Meta Business Suite can help you increase sales and customers in the long term, all without the need for additional tools.

New tools for lead generation and customer acquisition

Meta is releasing countless new tools to help companies generate and manage leads through the platform. These features include:

  • Instagram quote requests
  • Filter leads using instant forms
  • Creative flexibility
  • Gated content
  • Partner integration

Request for quotation is currently being tested with select businesses on Instagram. Basically, it allows businesses to add a Get Quote button on their Instagram profile and stickers on their stories.

In the near future, filtering of leads will be available to companies. This will work by reviewing responses to a multiple-choice question.

Meta is also testing its own instant form for more customization. Selected companies can test add visuals and content to their instant form, giving users more visual information.

Walled content will soon be available for corporate use. By creating gated content, small and medium businesses can provide potential customers with resources after filling out the main ad form. This allows the user to stay directly on the platform.
