2015 Cadillac Escalade
The look, styling and luxurious reputation of the Escalade were present in the 2015 model, but something wasn’t quite right. This fourth-generation version of GM’s full-size luxury SUV has become a nightmare for owners. Over five years, NHTSA recalled 2015 seven times. These recalls were due to:
. Since it hit the market, the Expedition has been a huge family hauler with a solid track record of reliability. Unfortunately, the 2020 version is the exception. This large SUV received eight NHTSA recall orders in its first three years. These recalls include:
- Dangerous transmission problems
- Engine fires caused by shorted circuit boards
- Faulty seat mechanisms
- Poor seat belt quality
- Pre-collision system problems
- Poor rear visibility
It may be nothing more than a one-off, but the 2020 Ford Expedition is the choice SUV owners regret.
Hummer H2 from 2003
The Hummer H2 was a terrible derivative of the popular Hummer H1. The H1 did more to mimic the true nature of the military Humvee, while the H2 was more of a watered down version. However, the Hummer H2 became a popular full-size American SUV and was produced from 2002 to 2009. He tells us that this SUV has given many owners a fit with the underpowered engine, unreliable transmission, and poor body construction. . The Hummer H2 was so bad that it often makes the worst SUV list right next to the Pontiac Aztek.
2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee
While most of us consider the midsize SUV to be the midsize SUV, Jeep advertised it as a full-size SUV in its lineup. Of course, this classification predated the Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer, and Grand Cherokee L models. Regardless of where it’s classified, the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee was a deplorable full-size American SUV. This version of the venerable Jeep had several reliability issues, with the 2012 model receiving 11 recall notices for:
- Engines stalled
- Defective brake installation
- Alternator fault
- Broken connecting rod
This version of the Jeep Grand Cherokee was less than desirable to many who owned it.
