3 Reasons to Buy the 2023 Ford F-150 and 3 Reasons to Not

The F-150 is one of the most popular trucks in America. Obviously, there are plenty of reasons to buy one. The truck starts where it has many standard features. Here are three reasons why shoppers should buy and three reasons they shouldn’t.

1. The 2023 Ford F-150 has high towing and payload capabilities

One of the main reasons the F-150 is rated so highly is its towing and payload capabilities. A standard truck has a towing capacity of about 9,700 pounds, but when properly equipped, it can tow up to 14,000 pounds. This is in the section. The Ford truck has a maximum payload capacity of about 3,300 pounds, which is a lot for the segment.

3. Ford gave the F-150 several powertrain options, too

The F-150 has a variety of powertrain options, allowing owners to customize the truck. It starts with a 3.3-liter V6 engine that generates 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. Ford currently offers six more engine options. Four of them are more powerful V6s, and two of them are V8s. The most powerful option is the supercharged 5.2-liter V8, which makes 700 horsepower and 640 lb-ft of torque.

The hybrid engine is another notable powertrain option. It features a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that is powered by an electric motor for 430 horsepower and 570 pound-feet of torque. The truck’s hybrid option provides a nice balance of specs while delivering a combined 25 mpg, making it the most efficient powertrain option.

1. The 2023 Ford F-150 doesn’t have great ride quality

One of the F-150’s main competitors is the Ram 1500, which has a smoother ride quality than Ford’s. This is true on and off-road alike, and the higher rims don’t get better ride quality either. Having said that, passengers will feel bumps in the road when they’re in the truck, but they won’t hear much.

2. Ford didn’t give the F-150 a diesel engine

Although there are many options, the Detroit automaker doesn’t offer a diesel engine option for the truck. By comparison, the F-150’s competitors, such as the Ram 1500 and Chevy Silverado, have diesel options. Diesel engines have some advantages over gas-powered engines, and one such advantage is that diesel engines tend to have large towing capacities.

3. Shoppers will have to pay a lot to access some features

Another major problem with the truck also has to do with its options. Some of the truck’s most desirable options are locked away behind the higher trims. Some of these desirable features include a power driver’s seat and power windows. Top trims are also pricey, with the popular Lariat starting at $59,000.
