The Rattler package for the 2023 F-150 is gone as soon as it arrives. Unfortunately, it sold out quickly, with people wanting an off-road package for their full-size truck. It’s an affordable alternative to high-performance off-roaders like the expensive Raptor. What’s good about it already being sold out for the model year? There are three reasons it’s already sold out.
1. It is sold out because it is an affordable off-road truck
Price is the number one reason why the 2023 Rattler is already sold out. According to Ford offered the package last year for $1,495, so you can get it with the lower trims for $42,690. We believe the low price coupled with the great value it provides played a large role in selling it quickly. While it’s undoubtedly not a Raptor or even a Tremor, this light off-road package for America’s most popular truck offers the perfect blend of features and value.
. Together, these items cost a pretty penny for owners to upgrade the truck themselves.
Combining it all into a package that costs under $1,500 is an excellent value. Considering the price of the tires and other off-road modifications, the Rattler offers a lot of value. The model can get off the tarmac without having to overspend on some exterior graphics. Many other full-size trucks offer a similar off-road package that often makes them feel a little more rugged. However, the all-terrain tires, skid plates, and dual exhaust system are usually locked behind expensive trims.
3. Is the Rattler better than the FX4 for off-roading?
According to , the FX4 Off-Road Package costs $1,095 for the base model F-150 XL. While it’s still available, it doesn’t offer the value that the Rattler package does. Ford says this adds an electronically locking rear axle, body side decal, canister floor liner, Hill Descent Control, off-road-tuned front shock absorbers, monotube rear shocks, rock-crawling mode and skid plates. Although equipment is plentiful, none of it can match the features available in the Rattler Off-Road Package. Now that the rattlesnake-themed parts are sold out, F-150 buyers will have to choose the only other affordable option, which is the FX4 Off-Road Package.
2023 Ford F-150 Rattler SOLD
According to CarBuzz, the Rattler is sold out, as is the 2024 model. The publication said the 2024 version sold out before Ford switched the 2022 model to the 2023 version in its stores. The evidence is clear: the F-150’s online configurator no longer shows the Rattler package as an available option. It is still possible that some local dealers will have one of these full-size trucks included with the off-road package. Finding one is going to be tough, but we’re sure it’s possible to get your hands on it before it’s all gone.
Those who struggle to find any value in the FX4 Off-Road package will have to spend a lot more to get the F-150’s off-road driving features. For example, the Tremor costs $60,970, the Raptor is $76,775, and the Raptor R is over six figures. Despite this, we can’t say that the supercharged 5.2-liter V8 doesn’t look tempting.
