What is the 2023 Honda Pilot LX?
The 2023 LX is a new entry-level trim level that’s back by popular demand. It was available with older models of the previous generation, but was dropped before the redesign ushered in the new generation.
The LX is a basic, entry-level model that forgoes some desirable comfort and convenience features. But it still has the standard 3.5-litre V6 engine with 285PS and 262Nm of torque. It is aired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
While the racer isn’t exactly known for being sporty, he can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 6.6 seconds. When properly equipped, he can tow up to 5,000 pounds.
The Pilot LX features 18-inch alloy wheels, has LED headlights, keyless entry for the driver’s door, manually adjustable seats, push button start, remote engine start, 7.0-inch infotainment screen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, a seven-speaker audio system and dual-zone automatic climate control.
Second, opting for the LX gives up wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, which is pretty convenient. Even the 7.0-inch screen is a downgrade from the 90-inch option.
Additionally, AWD models only get four drive modes for Snow, Normal, Eco, and Tow. Other models have Sand and Trail modes.
Standard safety features include automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, driver attention alert and adaptive cruise control.
What does the Pilot Sport upgrade include?
It is based on the LX model with 20-inch wheels, LED fog lights, keyless entry/ignition, leather-wrapped steering wheel, second-row bench seating, power front seats, heated front seats, blind spot warning, and rear seats – cross traffic.
It still doesn’t have the bigger screen or Apple CarPlay/Android Auto wireless, but it’s slightly more comfortable and convenient. It also has multiple interior trim and paint colors available.
But for the wireless phone charging cradle, leather upholstery, power liftgate, digital rearview mirror, tri-zone automatic climate control, acoustic laminated windshield, panoramic sunroof, integrated navigation, head-up displays and much more, you will have to move up the trim levels.
However, the Honda Pilot LX still has wireless connectivity via Bluetooth, the same amount of power as other models, a long list of safety features and modern convenience features. It has everything you need for less!
