2022 Ford Maverick Sales Cripple Ford Ranger
The 2022 truck is an excellent truck to consider, but the smaller Ford Maverick stole the spotlight. The 2022 Maverick outperformed the 2022 Ranger by a large margin. While the 2022 Ranger moved 57,005 units in 2022, the Maverick sold 74,370 models.

To add insult to injury, 2023 Ford Maverick sales beat 2022 sales in one week. When banks opened orders in September, more than 80,000 sales were accumulated at a rapid rate.
Why is a defector better than a ranger?

The Ranger features a standard 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. It gets an EPA-estimated 20 mpg in the city and up to 26 mph on the highway. But the Ranger can tow up to 7,500 pounds and carry a payload of up to 1,905 pounds.
With the Maverick Hybrid, you can tow about 2,000 pounds. You’ll have to upgrade to the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 250 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque to access all-wheel drive and up to 4,000 lb.-ft of towing. The Maverick can carry a payload of up to 1,564 lbs.
Does Maverick or Ranger have better features?
2022 may have an advantage because it’s new. The 2022 Ford Ranger has been the same since it came back to America in 2019. However, it’s the same Global model that was refreshed in 2012.
Critics aren’t shy when it comes to pointing out that the Ranger could use an updated interior with fewer hard plastics and cheap materials. Maverick features a high-quality interior with modern touches and innovative storage solutions.
The Maverick has a unibody design, which means it handles like an SUV. He could be more comfortable than a bouncer. But the Ranger has a traditional body on frame for better off-road chops.
The Maverick may be beating the Ranger because it’s new, more affordable, fuel efficient, has a roomier interior, and more advanced technology. But maybe the redesigned 2024 Ford Ranger is a little better.
