The 2 Cheapest 4-Door Full-Size Trucks Are Both Rams

Dreaming of a cost-effective pickup truck but your family needs at least two rows of seats? The most budget-friendly Ram pickup is a newly built fourth-generation 1500 badged as a “4-door.” MSRP is $30,695 for a 2-door Regular Cab. Upgrading to a Quad Cab brings that to $37,055. It’s also the cheapest 4-door truck. Full-size available.But not by much: Pricing for the 2023 fifth-generation Ram 1500’s quad-cab starts at $37,410, $400 cheaper than the Toyota Tundra, making it the second-cheapest cab around.

What is the Ram 1500 Classic?

When Ram redesigned it for 2019, it ditched the two-door regular cab configuration. It has also extensively upgraded the truck’s interior and increased its MSRP. So, it still makes new, fourth-generation Ram 1500s badged as “Classic” for fleet operators and drivers on a tight budget.

. It’s also not available with the fifth-generation eTorque mild hybrid. But other than that, it has the same engines as the current production Ram. It also has the same rear coil springs and an eight-speed automatic transmission.

One of the main selling points of the Ram 1500 Classic is that you can still order it with a two-door regular cab. Because of this, the MSRP is $7,000 less than the Ram 1500. But if you need a four-door pickup truck, the Ram 1500 Classic isn’t much cheaper.

How much is the quad cab Ram 1500?

The MSRP for 2023 Ram 1500 Tradesman with “Quad Cab” and 6’4 box is $37,410. The fourth-generation Ram 1500 Classic in the exact same configuration starts at $37,055. Bumping into the larger crew cab would add $2,700 to either truck’s total.

The Quad Cab is the smallest 4-door cab size. It has nearly identical dimensions to the Silverado/Sierra double cab. Specifically, second-row passengers get 39.2 inches of headroom, 63.4 inches of total hip room, 65.7 inches of total shoulder room, and 35.6 inches of legroom.

What do all these numbers mean in plain English? A quad cab will feel a little cramped for most adults traveling more than a few miles. You’ll also want to double-check that any particular brand of infant car seat will fit the second time.

What is the cheapest full size 4 door van?

Currently $37,055, the Ram 1500 is the cheapest four-door full-size pickup truck available. You can currently pick up a 2023 F-150 XL with Ford’s SuperCab for $38,305. But note that this configuration has a rear-hinged door and a very small rear seat.

If you want a proper 4-door F-150, you’ll have to fork out for the SuperCrew. This configuration starts at $40,640. Ford’s SuperCrew is its largest F-150 cabin comparable to a Ram’s full-size crew cab.

If you’re a fan of General Motors, you’ll want to know that you can get the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 WT with the aforementioned double cab for $38,900. The full-size crew cab version costs $41,300 MSRP. You’ll pay at least $800 for its cousin, the GMC Sierra.

Toyota, just like the fifth-generation Ram, currently only offers a four-door cab. Pricing for the 2023 Toyota Tundra starts at $37,865, making it quite competitive with the other four-doors. Last but not least, the Nissan Titan. Its smallest configuration is the King Cab with rear hinged doors and an MSRP of $38,810. For a proper rear-hinged four-door, you’ll have to upgrade to a crew cab and dish out at least $40,580.
