The updated look keeps the Crosstrek looking fresh
The most noticeable Crosstrek 2024 updates are its new looks. Subaru hasn’t deviated drastically from the previous generation’s styling, but a few notable flourishes are enough to attract fresh eyes.
says the 2024 Crosstrek will get the newest version of EyeSight Driver Assist technology as standard equipment. This means that all new Crosstreks include Forward Collision Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking. Other optional safety technologies include automatic emergency steering, blind spot warning and lane keeping assist.
Subaru will build some 2024 Crosstrek trims in the US
Many drivers care deeply about the origin of manufacture, with some preferring US-built vehicles. Those people will be happy to know that Subaru will be assembling two in the United States
Subaru has been making models in the USA for years. But until now, almost all Crosstreks were born in Japan. That changes for the 2024 model year. According to Consumer Reports, Subaru will produce the 2024 Crosstrek Sport and 2024 Crosstrek Limited in Indiana. Other finishes will continue to come from Japanese factories.
Crosstrek manual is buried
Sadly, another stick-shift model pushes daisies for the US market. Much to the chagrin of auto enthusiasts, Subaru will only offer the 2024 Crosstrek with continuously variable transmission (CVT). This decision ends the Crosstrek’s run as one of the only subcompact crossovers with a six-speed manual transmission available.
The move isn’t surprising, considering manual transmissions comprise only single-digit sales percentages each year in the United States. While Subaru’s CVT will no doubt work to maximize fuel efficiency, some drivers will mourn another missed opportunity to row their gears.
How much does the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek cost?
In a surprise move, it says the 2024 Crosstrek will start at the same price as the outgoing 2023 model, at the time. Despite a comprehensive refresh, the 2024 Crosstrek will have a base price of $24,995.
Subaru has pushed the Crosstrek nameplate forward with new technologies and new looks. Drivers can judge the compact crossover for themselves when it hits dealerships this spring.
