This new powerplant is a significant improvement because previous Sequoia model years had terrible fuel economy over rivals. Toyota has managed to find a way to deliver even more horsepower while also making the full-size SUV more efficient.

This propulsion system is called the iForce MAX hybrid powertrain. The full-size SUV gets an impressive 21 miles per gallon in the city and 24 miles per gallon on the highway.
