Consumer Reports’ Most Satisfying List Has 2 Trucks Under $85,000

Finding a reliable new car, or SUV is not as easy as it seems. However, Consumer Reports’ most satisfying list has two pickup trucks recommended by buyers, but neither are traditional gasoline-powered vehicles. Both trucks cost less than $85,000, while one is hybrid and one is all-electric. If you guessed that the R1T and made the list, you’d be right.

In just its second year on the market, the Maverick Hybrid has already landed on Consumer Reports’ most satisfying list. Priced between $22,195 and $27,955, buyers have plenty of reasons to like the Maverick. The hybrid engine is standard this year, or buyers can opt for the 2.0-litre EcoBoost engine.

The Hybrid Maverick gets 42 mpg city and 33 highway, which equals 37 mpg combined. In addition to its ridiculous fuel economy, Ford included many standard safety features. Forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking and a rearview camera are all standard.

While the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has not yet rated the 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid, they did give it a four-star safety rating. It performed well in areas like general, front and rear crash tests.
