2023 Acura Integra Wins the Prestigious North American Car of the Year Award

The 2023 Integra is an excellent choice for anyone in the market for a luxury compact car. Based on the current Honda Civic, the Integra has a comfortable ride, a turbocharged engine that’s powerful and roomy. With all these attributes, it is no wonder that the 2023 Integra won the prestigious North American Car of the Year (NACTOY) award.

The North American Car of the Year panel consists of 50 jurors who determine the winners from each category. This year, the jury voted on nine finalists out of 47 entries after a comprehensive test drive and evaluation period. Of those nine, the top three were the Genesis G80 EV, Nissan Z, and 2023 Acura Integra.

And they were impressed with its sophisticated road manners and comprehensive feature set. Sure, it’s the company’s version of the mainstream. However, we think the Integra is a little better. The Integra’s hatchback shape gives it significantly more cargo space than a conventional Civic trunk, and there are few luxury amenities on the list.

Some of our favorite features on the Integra include the heated front seats, the ELS premium sound system, and the adaptive suspension. It should be noted, however, that the suspension adjustments seemed minor, but it was still a nice feature.

Also, how could we forget the car’s turbocharged engine? It’s hard to argue with 200 horsepower and a great six-speed manual transmission.

This isn’t the first time Acura has been named North American Car or Truck of the Year

Although the Acura Integra is new to the current market, this is not the first time that the Japanese brand has received one of these prestigious accolades. Reports indicate that the 2001 Acura MDX was named North American Truck of the Year during its time.

Given that Acura is great at reviving and redesigning nameplates, it’s only fitting that the new Integra won this time around. The team behind the car has a lot to celebrate.

“Relaunching an iconic model like the Integra with such great fanfare and industry recognition has been incredible,” said Emile Courcourt, associate vice president of Acura National Sales. “We are especially proud of the Integra development team in Japan and our production partners at our factory in Marysville, Ohio, where the 2023 Integra is built.”
