Similar recalls have plagued Ford in 2022

This isn’t the first time the 360-degree camera system has caused a massive Ford recall. Last year, nearly 300,000 Ford and Lincoln vehicles were recalled due to degraded camera lenses. These models included 2017 through 2020 Ford SuperDuty trucks and Lincoln Continental sedans. In that case, the trim on the affected cameras caused poor rearward visibility. That said, it’s different than the software issue that caused the 2023 Ford recall.

Other Ford recalls last year included the Ford Bronco Sport and Ford Escape SUV for faulty fuel injectors, as well as wiper motor failures and driveshaft failures on Ford F-150 pickup trucks.
