Athletic handling and a luxurious interior are just a few of these, along with an easy-to-use infotainment system. A backup camera is standard for 2018, so all options on the market should have one.

The X5’s standard engine is a turbocharged six-cylinder, but it comes with plenty of other options. A plug-in hybrid powertrain was available alongside the diesel, plus the xDrive50i and X5 M received V8s. BMW added a power liftgate, push-button start, power adjustable seats and even a panoramic sunroof.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration awarded the 2018 BMW X5 a five-star safety rating, while awarding the X5 high scores in its tests.

A 228-hp turbocharged four-cylinder is standard. Forward collision warning, a power liftgate and a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay are also standard. Automatic high beams, lane departure warning and automatic low-speed emergency braking are also standard.

The BMW X1 has received a five-star safety rating from the , and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has awarded the X1 high scores in most of its tests.

While these used BMW SUVs still start above $30,000, it’s easy on the wallet for the brand. These options have many safety systems, standard features and cargo space for most situations. If you need more room all around, the BMW X7 SUV is full-size but definitely not easy on the wallet.
