6 Items for Your Chevy Corvette SUV Wish List

You have been warned; now it’s coming! GM is capitalizing on the name with an SUV lineup that will be low-slung, sporty and rugged. We expect this new range to deliver legendary sports car driving dynamics, but that has yet to be seen.

Is the Chevy Corvette SUV electric?

The new 2025 Chevy SUV will use the same Ultium battery technology found under the GMC Hummer EV and other GM-branded EVs. This system offers an 800-volt electrical system and should have some high-revving electric motors for the new Corvette SUV. Those hoping for a V8 engine and electric motors are unfortunately out of luck.

in mind, here are six items that should be on your Corvette SUV wish list.

1. Optional 4WD or AWD

This new Chevy EV is an SUV and carries a performance name. While the Corvette has always been relegated to city streets or trail driving, an off-road version of this new SUV could be seriously cool. Adding this to the new Corvette SUV may require more ground clearance, but how much fun would drivers have taking this new electric performance SUV out on the trails?

2. Biometric entry and operation

The technology is becoming a huge part of new EVs, and most automakers are pushing all their chips to the center of the table. Could the new 2025 Chevy Corvette SUV offer the futuristic feel of biometric entry and operation? This feature reads your face or fingerprint before allowing access or starting the vehicle.

3. Autonomous driving

It’s no exaggeration to think that the new Corvette electric SUV may include GM’s Super Cruise feature. This should be an expectation, but could we go beyond level 3 technology by 2025 to offer level 4 or 5 autonomous driving? Of course, some will argue that the pleasure of the Corvette name lies in driving it. Autonomous driving eliminates this pleasure but could be an advantage during heavy traffic or while running errands.

4. Advanced infotainment

Should we expect the new 2025 Chevy Corvette SUV to include an infotainment system that requires only voice commands for all operations? This should be possible. At the very least, the infotainment system in this new sporty SUV should rival those of Tesla’s electric vehicles.

5. 360 degree pedestrian detection

Some of the first images of the new Corvette SUV give this vehicle a high rear area, making it hard to see what’s going on around the vehicle. All versions of the Corvette electric SUV are expected to include 360-degree pedestrian and impact detection to avoid running into people or obstacles in the blind spots of this new SUV.

6. Self-diagnosis

The 2025 Chevy Corvette SUV is expected to include a self-diagnostics feature when it arrives. This could be a standard feature on all vehicles as we move towards more AI-based applications. A self-diagnostics feature would allow the Corvette SUV to continuously monitor its functions and prevent a roadside breakdown. This may be one of the most important advances in automotive technology.

How much will the 2025 Chevy Corvette SUV cost?

If the new Corvette electric SUV follows the traditional path of this nameplate, it should be affordably priced compared to other performance-oriented electric SUVs. With that in mind, the 2025 Chevy Corvette SUV is estimated to cost $80,000. That places the new Corvette SUV in the same range HotCars offers, which is $70,000 to $100,000.
