Why Bulk Content Creating For Social Media Saves You Time

What is bulk content creation?

I like to think that high volume content creation is going to be the new term many social media marketers are using, so you’ll get noticed.

Simply put, bulk content production is when you come up with a bunch of ideas for your social media platforms and produce content, captions, hashtags, and scheduling for a period of time.

I often find that if I create four to six weeks’ worth of content before they go out on social networks, it’s a good example of the process.

But, here’s the thing: It’s a process, and sometimes social media marketing doesn’t quite allow for my line building. The world is an unpredictable place and there are trends emerging left, right, and center, so you need to allow it.

What I am suggesting in this article is that bulk content creation allows you to be productive and plan ahead for your (or your client’s) business.

What is the purpose of mass content creation when it comes to social media marketing?

I’ve already touched on the purpose above, but I’d like to expand my thinking here.

I always advise people – whether it’s my team, clients or partners – that sending social media posts for this isn’t going to cut it.

Remember, the key to social media is to be social; Interacting with your audience should be done to build relationships, and it shouldn’t be forgotten.

However, if your social media strategy is to provide your audience with thought leadership, or motivate them to buy your products/services, then bulk content creation will definitely help you plan ahead.

Thinking about seasonality in your business is also important, so knowing that the holidays are coming gives you enough time to plan ahead what your message or campaign will be.

How group content creation can save you time

For this process to work effectively, you need to have the right tools to do so.

I always used a copy of Hootsuite social media content calendar, that you have adapted to over time.

This is Infinity Digital’s social media content calendar from a week into September this year. As you can see, it allows you to clearly see the following:

  • the week.
  • date of publication.
  • Posting time.
  • Take out the platform.
  • topic or series.
  • Content to be created.
  • Caption including hash marks.
  • position status.

When it comes to me planning the next few weeks of our content, I’m able to enter post dates and times, derived from the performance of my recent batch of posts.

This is just an example of our Facebook page, and the best time to post to expand your reach.

We can then move on to deciding on a topic, series or campaign, and which content would be best for achieving our goals.

Then, we can then create a prompt to understand what content we need to create.

Having a status column at the end is very important, as it visually shows you where you are in the week or month you are in.

It should also be noted that this template will not work with every company or brand.

Most importantly: quality is everything. While this illustrates another approach and process, you should still consider the quality of your content and its impact on your audience.

What we don’t want is a bunch of posts being posted for the sake of, without adding any value to the audience. Think: Will my followers and potential followers get anything from this post?

Sometimes it’s a good idea to add different channels into the mix – like your website’s blog – as this will allow you to pair the social posts that go with promoting that piece of content.

An example of when producing bulk content saved my agency time

I’ve explained how it saved me time organizing social media marketing for my agency, but I’d like to talk about how it helped my team connect clients.

As I said above, a content calendar can come in many different forms, so we’re constantly adapting them for our clients.

One of our clients, AA Salt Services Ltd, has recently joined us to manage their social media after working with us for the past 12 months on PPC campaigns.

In our strategy meeting, it was decided that creating bulk content over the winter period would be beneficial as we could pre-plan messages for certain weeks and days.

Also, we can keep slots in the calendar for free for what I like to refer to as “out of band” posts – like weather changes in the local area (if I use this client as an example).

Tools to use when creating bulk content

I’ve already talked about the content calendar template, which is derived from Hootsuite, but I’d like to show you the tools my team and I use to create content in bulk.

The first tool, which I think is a particular favorite, is Canva.

Good ol’ Canva has come a long way since I first started using it. Not only do you have the ability to adapt templates for content creation, but with Canva’s Pro version you can resize graphics and videos to fit other formats.

I’m going to use this to resize to other social platforms, and with a bit of jiggery-pokery (luxury marketing is all about moving and realigning assets), I have a full set of graphics and videos for all of my chosen social media platforms.

We’ve also tried other social media management tools in my agency, so it’s been interesting to see which work best for us and our clients.

HootsuiteBulk content uploading has been a blessing in the past, as it allows you to use a spreadsheet like the one above, and add all of your content to be tabulated with just a few clicks!

However, I know that Later.com It also has this feature, with the ability to connect to cloud storage like Google Drive and Dropbox, where you can pull approved content directly. This is very useful to share with other stakeholders!
