We’re Shocked Ram Owners Don’t Love This Area of Their Truck More

Truck owners are some of the most loyal car enthusiasts out there. Consumers who buy trucks tend to be brand loyal, and owners are no different. In fact, the Ram brand has been progressing in recent years, with experts and consumers alike paying more attention to the redesigned and updated truck.

In a recent survey, Ram owners were asked to rank the best things about their trucks. However, the results were unexpected. One of the things Ram owners arranged less for was something.

Ram owners absolutely love the exterior design of their truck. Next up was the steering feel and powertrain.

In 2020, the Ram brings an option, which bumps gas mileage from 17 mpg to around 25 mpg. Gas mileage was the lowest thing on the list, and Ram seems to have listened to its customers on this.

Overall, Ram owners put the interior as fourth, although many parts of the interior have been redesigned or upgraded.

What do experts say about the Ram 1500’s interior?

JD Power called the 2022 Ram 1500 with the Limited Edition 10th Anniversary interior package “one of the best.” The front and rear seats are heated. The seats themselves are spacious and comfortable, with “excellent overall support” and plenty of legroom.

For the rest of the interior, there’s quilted leather and metal pedal covers and a 19-speaker Harman Kardon surround sound system. The Ram completes with a faux suede top lining and even a jeweled shift knob.

In 2022, all but one Ram truck comes with a new Uconnect infotainment system. This system can connect to Apple CarPlay or Android Auto wirelessly, but it also has features and settings that are worth taking the time to familiarize yourself with. For example, this includes options such as automatic deployment of power running boards.

The infotainment system was ranked ninth for Ram owners, but recent changes could bring it to number one on the list. The crew cab also provides additional storage space, with Ram Bins located under the rear floor mats.

Overall, it’s a really attractive truck.

Why the interruption? There may be a simple explanation for this. Ram owners, in general, weren’t going for the fanciest trims. Most of the owners surveyed didn’t have the fanciest decors, meaning they probably didn’t have access to some of the more upscale amenities.

Ram owners have rated their trucks highly for powertrain and driving feel, along with exterior design. Perhaps Ram owners were looking more for a working truck, and didn’t want to dig around for interior details they didn’t need. Almost 90% of Ram buyers were male, and the average age was 56.

JD Power points out that it’s possible that the average owner didn’t make these upgrades happen in part because at the time the truck was purchased, Ram was still producing the previous generation Ram 1500. Those except for owners of the newer Ram who opted out that all the upgrades didn’t have Tested interior design.
