Real Nissan Rogue Owners and Car Critics Both Aren’t Fans of the Infotainments System

One of the best cars in the lineup is the Rogue, and this can be seen from the many positive reviews it has received from car critics. That said, owners of the compact crossover SUV are all about the SUV, and there are a couple of areas where owners and car critics agree. The 2023 Nissan Rogue’s infotainment system is one of those areas where both owners and auto critics don’t like it.

It sends out a survey to thousands of car owners every year. This is a part of the site’s APEAL study, and like many other similar studies, the APEAL study aims to obtain data from verified owners about their thoughts on their new cars.

The owners also liked how it felt to drive their own SUV, as well as how safe they felt when they were in the SUV. Drivers enjoyed the process of getting in and out of the car, and they also liked the way Nissan designed the cabin of the SUV.

On the other hand, setting up and starting the Rogue was an area that pilots didn’t really enjoy. The owners also didn’t feel very comfortable when driving the car. The powertrain of the compact SUV and were other areas that the owners did not appreciate much.

One of the worst aspects of the Rogue, however, was its infotainment system. Owners ranked the car’s infotainment system as the second worst attribute.

That’s a criticism the auto critic agrees with, as the independent expert at JD Power has had a lot of issues with the car’s infotainment system. The Japanese automaker made some improvements to the SUV’s infotainment system with the 2023 model year, but the auto critic doesn’t think it was enough.

This was largely because the updates were relatively minor. For example, the automaker added compatibility to the 2023 model year.

While Amazon Alexa Auto might be a useful feature, it doesn’t fix the issues the independent expert had with the infotainment system. In particular, the voice recognition system was poor.

It was unable to properly acknowledge several hints it was given, and when it did acknowledge them, it would sometimes give a vague response that ultimately may not be helpful for drivers.

An example of this was when the independent expert asked the infotainment system for directions to the nearest hospital. She understood the request, but provided a list of a wide variety of medical facilities, including a veterinarian and an assisted living center. The auto critic also didn’t like how the Rogue’s infotainment system fit into the interior design.

When owners opt for certain cabin style choices, such as tan leather upholstery, they can create reflections on the touch screen. Another issue the site has encountered with the Nissan’s infotainment system simply boils down to disappointment. It has a much smoother infotainment system, so it’s disappointing the 2023 Rogue doesn’t have one similar.
