Good and bad things about the 2023 Jeep Renegade

US News had some good things to say about the Renegade. First, they liked that it comes with the Trailhawk trim, the model’s off-road offering. It also comes with blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, forward collision alert and forward automatic emergency braking.

.

Other features that disappointed reviewers were the fuel economy ratings and budget-looking interior. As far as fuel economy goes, you won’t get much. The Jeep Renegade is rated for 23 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway, which is pretty poor for a subcompact SUV, especially when many other similar SUVs offer far more.

The cabin has a lot of hard plastic, which detracts from the look of the interior. Also, when driving the Renegade down the road, you will notice a lot of wind, road and engine noise entering the cabin.

What reasons would you have for buying the 2023 Jeep Renegade?

The main reason to buy this Jeep is its off-road capability. The Trailhawk version will add skid plates, hill descent control, tow hooks, rain-sensing wipers, 17-inch wheels and extra riding modes for various types of terrain, like mud and snow.

Another good option to choose is the . The 2023 model features some improvements. One of them is its engine, which is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder that produces 158bhp. For fuel economy, you can expect around 26 mpg on city streets and 32 mpg when traveling on the highway.

The Renegade offers some appeal with its off-road capability and its towing ability for a subcompact SUV. However, US News believes that there are too many drawbacks and recommends looking for an alternative like the Crosstrek or Honda HR-V.
