This Honda Car Just Snagged Edmunds Top Rated Award for the 2nd Year In a Row

Honda is synonymous with reliability, sensitivity and affordability. Few brand models do a better job of showing this fact than celebrities. However, if you need more evidence, the 2023 Honda Civic won the Edmunds Award for Top Car Ranking. This marks the second consecutive year that a Honda model has won the award.

Is Honda Civic a good car?

Honda Civic is a reasonable, reliable and affordable car. Also, the 11th generation Civic got a much-needed design refresh. As a result, the 2023 Honda Civic has a face that doesn’t require a qualification like, “At least it’s fuel efficient.”

The 11th-generation Civic’s victory is down to “practically everything,” which means it’s a top scorer across the board. Edmund’s Editor-in-Chief Alistair Weaver said the 2023 model is “affordable, efficient, practical, and beautifully designed; the Honda Civic has an enviable set of qualities.”

Honda also notes that the eleventh-generation sedan is bringing the venerable Model R back. The performance-oriented hot hatch also takes styling cues from the Civic’s styling updates, ditching the drama and juveniles of the outgoing model.

The 2023 Honda Civic isn’t the first car in the brand’s lineup to win the top-rated Edmunds Award

Honda says the 2023 Civic follows the path of the 2022 model, which won last year’s top-rated Edmonds Award. This means that the Civic has officially started its winning streak with two straight victories. Moreover, Honda cars have won four of the past five years between the Civic and Accord.

Edmunds says the two Civic cents are “a strong statement.” It’s an understandable result, given the model’s new optimization and migration value. Moreover, the Civic defeated finalists such as the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

What’s new in the 2023 Civic?

The new 2023 Honda Civic doesn’t change much. He says the most important new addition to the 2023 lineup is the new Civic Type R and its performance credentials. The new 2023 Type R will produce 315 horsepower and has a six-speed manual transmission.

What’s more, the 2023 model will arrive just in time for the Civic’s 50th anniversary and the 30th anniversary of the Civic. Thus, potential Civic Type Rs owners will likely want a familiar, historic Championship White to celebrate the anniversary. However, the 2023 model also owes its life-changing lease for 2022, which got a complete redesign. TrueCar says Honda has completely redesigned the car inside and out, bringing only engine options from the previous model year.

How much does the new Honda Civic cost?

The new 2023 Honda Civic Sport starts at $26,145. Further down the trim line, the EX, EX-L, and Si start at around $26,050, $27,250, and $28,100, respectively. Pricing for the range-topping Touring starts at around $29,650.
