The 2023 gets an EPA-estimated 32 mpg city, up to 41 mpg highway, and 37 mpg combined. Pairing the RAV4 hybrid with all-wheel drive can reduce those figures by an mpg or two.

Nine of the vehicles on the list have earned a Green Choice award, meaning they have the cleanest emissions.

Is the 2023 RAV4 Hybrid worth the extra cost?

Yes, the 2023 is worth the upgrade costs if you want a vehicle with more horsepower and better fuel economy. The Toyota RAV4 starts at $27,975, while the RAV4 Hybrid starts at around $30,725.

So, that’s about $2,750 for the upgrade. But these prices are the MSRPs and don’t include the $1,335 destination tax or dealership markups.

Additionally, the RAV4 Hybrid doesn’t qualify for the $7,500 federal tax credit because it relies primarily on an internal combustion engine and doesn’t plug in to charge.

The gas-powered Toyota RAV4 has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 203 HP and 184 Nm of torque. It gets an EPA-estimated 27 mpg in the city and up to 35 mpg on the highway. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 9.1 seconds.

With the 2023 RAV4 Hybrid, you get a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine paired with two electric motors to deliver 219PS and 163Nm of torque. It can reach 60 mph in about 7.4 seconds.
