The New Corvette E-Ray Is the Fastest ‘Vette Ever

The new 2024 Corvette may not have received the same public reveal treatment as the new one, but it’s still something special. In addition to being the first hybrid and first all-wheel drive (AWD) vehicle in the model’s history, the new E-Ray is quite simply the fastest-revving production Corvette Chevrolet has ever made. Check out the new E-Ray, the fastest Corvette ever.

How fast is the Corvette E-Ray?

The new 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray will go over about 180 miles per hour. While this may not sound very impressive compared to other supercars, the Corvette Hybrid will hit 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds. What’s more, the new E-Ray will finish a quarter mile in 10.5 seconds.

Widely recognized as one of the fastest muscle cars ever, it hits 60 in 2.3 seconds, just 0.2 seconds faster than the Corvette Hybrid. Considering that Chevrolet didn’t engineer the hybrid supercar for record-breaking quarter-mile times, the E-Ray’s straight-line speed is pretty impressive. Part of the reason the E-Ray is so fast is its hybrid platform, which mates a 495-horsepower 6.2-liter LT2 V8 with a front-mounted electric motor making 160 horsepower.

The result of the hybrid electric team was the first SUV and the most powerful Corvette ever. However, the clever, space-saving eAWD system doesn’t just make for quick launches; It matches front-wheel traction while cornering and handles inclement weather better than traditional rear-wheel drive (RWD) applications.

How Fast Are Corvette’s Closest E-Ray Competitors?

When it comes to the closest E-Ray competition, the logical place to start is the track-ready C8 Stingray Z51. In testing, the 2023 Corvette Stingray Z51 Convertible hit 60 mph in 3.0 seconds, and the removable hardtop coupe did it in 2.8 seconds. While that’s very impressive for a car with a base price of under $70,000, it’s not nearly as fast as the new Corvette hybrid.

Furthermore, the Z06’s new flat crank couldn’t keep up with the new Vette’s all-wheel-drive system, either. In a similar test, the high-speed Z06 put in a 0-60 mph time of 2.6 seconds with the quarter mile in about 10.5 seconds. This brings the Z06 very close to E-Ray speed, but still 0.1 seconds slower than the 60 mph standard.

Is Corvette E-Ray faster than Ferrari?

The new Corvette E-Ray is faster than most production Ferraris and tops out at 60 mph behind the SF90 Stradale, one of the fastest cars the brand has ever made. Specifically, the SF90 hits 60 mph in about 2.3 seconds.

However, the Stradale starts at around $511,250, nearly five times the cost of an entry-level E-Ray.

How much is the E-Ray device?

The 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray 1LZ starts at about $104,295 for the removable hardtop coupe. The top trim 2LZ will start at around $108,400, and the starting price for the range-topping 3LZ will be around $113,850. Furthermore, all trims make $7,000.
