Chevrolet Trailblazer LS is a high-value, affordable SUV

For those unfamiliar with the affordability report but looking for a high-value, affordable SUV, the LS checked all the boxes. Cars.com looks at brand new vehicles that offer more bang for your buck one way or another, and the Trailblazer came in first. Starting at $23,890, the Trailblazer gets 30 combined mpg and has an estimated annual fuel cost of just $1,700. The Trailblazer gets 29 mpg city and 31 highway.

SELF. Starting at $23,285, the Kona gets 32 mpg combined for fuel economy (30 mpg city, 35 mpg highway). It features front-wheel drive and has room for five passengers. The estimated fuel cost for the year is only $1,450, which adds to the value of the SUV. Hyundai also has a pretty good warranty, with five years or 60,000 miles from bumper to bumper; 10 year/100,000 mile powertrain.

All-wheel drive is optional, and thanks to Kona’s car-like dimensions, this SUV is easy to park around town. Hyundai also included many features such as automatic emergency braking, rear cross traffic alert, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. If that weren’t enough, there are more systems available, but the Kona SE is a high-value, affordable SUV for 2023.

There’s a lot to report for those considering the $24,485 S. This affordable, high-value SUV gets 31 mpg combined (29 mpg city / 35 mpg highway) and only has an annual fuel cost of about $1,650. With room for five passengers and all-wheel drive as standard, it’s easy to see why the Seltos is worth considering.

Furthermore, the Seltos’ cargo area is surprisingly large. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard, along with automatic emergency braking and driver attention monitoring. Kia also added keyless entry and Bluetooth. Plus, Kia’s five-year/60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper and 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty is an industry leader.

For more affordable, high-value SUVs, the 2023 Volkswagen Taos S and 2023 Mazda CX-30 S Select also made the cut. All of these options still come in at under $30,000 and have enough features to satisfy the needs of most potential owners.
