Get excited because we’ll see the Grand Highlander come out next week and it’s making significant changes. We got a sneak peek at the internals and can confirm that it fixes an annoying issue.

We don’t yet have the official cargo and passenger space specs for 2024. However, we do know that adults can do something they can’t do in the regular Toyota Highlander.

He points out that the Grand Highlander’s third row has three seat belt buckles, so maybe it can carry more people. You can see that there are storage compartments in the third row with USB ports for charging devices as well.

The tailgate appears to be positioned right up against the rear of the third row, but the trunk area can reportedly fit seven suitcases. Unfortunately, we don’t know the dimensions of the luggage placed behind the rear occupants.

What engines will the Grand Highlander have?

So far, we’ve only seen a few hints at what powertrains will be available with 2024. But we may learn more once it rolls out on Feb. 8, next week.

Until then, we can speculate that the Grand Highlander will be available with the Hybrid Max powertrain currently offered in the Toyota Crown. The turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine delivers 340 hp and 400 Nm of torque in the sedan.

Since the 2024 Grand Highlander will be larger and heavier than the sedan, these figures may differ. The 2023 Toyota Highlander has a standard 2.4-liter turbocharged inline-four engine with 265 hp and 309 lb-ft of torque.

It could serve as an entry-level option with the Grand Highlander. However, let’s hope for a little more muscle. The regular Highlander can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 8.0 seconds, which is about average, but not exactly exciting.

Additionally, the Highlander can tow up to 5,000 pounds. The Grand Highlander could tow more. She has to reach 5,500 pounds to match the Kia Telluride.

How much will the 2024 Grand Highlander cost?

We are still waiting for the release of the official price. But we know it will slot in between the regular Toyota Highlander and the Toyota Sequoia. The 2023 Highlander starts at $36,420 and the 2023 Sequoia starts at around $58,365.

That’s a great range, but some critics suggest it’ll start at around $40,000. However, the 2023 Kia Telluride starts at $35,890. So, the Grand Highlander will have to pack value to be worth the higher price tag.

Stay tuned for the latest updates. There are only a few days left to learn more about the new Toyota Grand Highlander. It may be available later this year.
