If you want to speed up your Gladiator 4xe and get here, you’re not alone. There’s no shame in wanting a truck with more power and better fuel economy. New evidence suggests that 2024 could be here sooner than you think.
When will the 2024 Jeep Gladiator be released?
We could be just a few weeks away from seeing 2024 for the first time. The Easter Jeep Safari is a 9-day event from April 1 through April 9. It’s the perfect time to introduce new concepts and models to the public for testing.
One of the images appears to be the Glaidaor Rubicon. You can see the vertical rear window and the beginning of the truck bed. It is equipped with tubular doors, and light blue specific pocket badges.
Light blue is the color used to distinguish 4xe models from their regular gas-powered counterparts. Also, this is the first Gladiator 4xe guide to last that long. It was already delayed once, so hopefully things will stay on track this time around.
How much power can Gladiator 4xe have?
The 2024 4xe can borrow the same powertrain from the Jeep Wrangler 4xe. It uses a 2.0-liter inline-four with a turbo, two electric motors, and a 17-kWh battery to make 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. This will be exciting
It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 6.0 seconds, and is the most powerful Wrangler other than the Rubicon 392. However, it can only tow up to 3,500 pounds. The gas-powered Gladiator can tow up to 7,700 lbs.
We don’t see the 4xe being much weaker than the gas-powered model, so maybe it will have a more powerful hybrid setup. In addition, the Gladiator is larger and heavier than the Wrangler. Rumors also suggest that the Jeep Grand Wagoneer 4xe may be on the way.
Maybe there’s a hybrid variant of the new Hurricane engine. The 3.0-liter inline-six engine generates 500 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque.
Currently, the Gladiator has a standard 3.6-liter V6 that makes 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. The optional 3.0-liter inline-six diesel engine delivers 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque.
What range will the Gladiator 4xe have?
Official fuel economy figures have not been released for the 2024 4xe. But the Jeep Wrangler 4xe gets an EPA-estimated 21 miles of electric range on a single charge. It gets about 49 mpg and can travel up to 370 miles on a single tank.
We’d like the Gladiator 4xe to have a little more range. The gas-powered model gets an EPA-estimated 17 mpg in the city and up to 22 mpg on the highway. An upgrade to the diesel engine delivers up to 22 mpg city and up to 28 mpg highway.
With a Level II charger, charging takes about 2 hours. With a Level 1 charger, it can take up to 12 hours. The Wrangler 4xe comes with a standard Level 1 charging cable.
